Let’s take a look at the specific period of Thanksgiving through Christmas throughout this decade. I used the weekly charts so as to give you the general flavor–a sampling, if you will– of each year. As you can see on my annotated charts below, even during some nasty bear markets, this holiday period is usually up much higher, at best, or sideways to slightly down, at worst.
Also, note that my working thesis throughout 2010 has been that this would be a similar year to 2004 and, if history continues to be our guide, the bulls could easily finish out this year in style.
