It’s a useful convention that makes it easier for people to do searches for comments related to a given stock symbol without also getting a whole bunch of text matches. For example, you want to search for comments related to stock symbol $DAN, but you don’t want to get all of the text matches that you would if you search for “DAN” (without the “$” sign) — such as “Danny,” “dang,” “Cendant,” etc.
Its more for stocktwit. I think CA posts on twitter first then copy here.

Euro looks ready to add to today’s gains in the overnight. Scaling in to this position (Forex not futures so I can have control between 5&6) as it resolves this wedge.
Overnight upside targets will be 1.4274 and 1.4294 (50-70+ pip profit range depending on my next entries.)
Failure of the wedge will force an exit.
ended up with a larger position than I planned so – selling some right here 1.4245 +23 pips

I have learned more from your website and tweets in the past several months than in most of my life… I’m 29 and been in stocks since about 14 or so. I am now back on my way to building back my portfolio; of which I owe 90% of my gains over the last couple months directly to you.
I repeat, don’t let those fucksticks mess with your head. All of us on here know you’re the shiznit! And we let all of our freinds know as well. You are one of only a few out there that post entries AND exits along with your gains AND losses; which lends a lot of credibility to your name.
