Imperial Bolter - Astartes MK Vb Godwyn Pattern

We just started a new month, a new beginning. Hardly new, the market is still trading in a neutral range. The possibility of an H&S is still present, though this pattern takes months to form. For those that believe the H&S pattern is hocus pocus, let me remind you that the pattern marked the top in 2007 with a neckline break on the 1st week of January 2008. As a short-term trader, I have to take advantage of intra-day and multi-day swings, prior to any breakdown (or a rare failed pattern breakout).

spx13d7bspx2m60mspx7m

Besides the magical lines on the charts, keep an eye on the 20- and 30-day MAs. We’ve been trading in this narrow range for the past 3 days. The 20 is located at 924 and the 30 is at 919. For the day, I will focus on the 905-928 range. For the intermediate, I would focus on 895-930.

I took a look at the breadth charts, mainly the NYSE NH-NL’s ($NYHL), NASDAQ NH-NL’s $NAHL, VIX, NYSE A-D line ($NYAD) and the NASDAQ A-D line ($NAAD). The New Highs-New Lows Index is on it’s largest cumulative positive strech since the bear market started. The VIX is back to pre-Crash levels.

nahlnyhlvix

The most interesting thing that I found was when I compared the NYSE and NASDAQ (COMP) indices with their respective Advance-Decline (A-D) lines. The COMP is outperforming the NYSE, however, if you look at the A-D lines, the NYSE internals have fared much better.

nyadnaad

Finally, on the bearish side, the European indices ($DAX, $CAC, $FTSE) are all forming bear flags. The 20-day MA  served as the principal support level for all three, but they have now turned into resistance. The Asian markets are still level.

Ah, tos charts. Good to know you’re one of the ‘good guys’.

In other news…this can’t be good for ABT (Vicodin), ENDP (Percocet), or perhaps even JNJ (Tylenol):
Panel Recommends Ban on 2 Popular Painkillers

  2. I like Percocet. It would be a shame if it was banned…not that I use it anyway.

  3. Juiceyfruit says:

Its time again for some FXP and the new triple bear diETF for developed markets, DPK … and emerging markets, EDZ

  4. PissAnt says:

Juicey… i’m in UIS also. A little unsure this morning what the street will make of this news. I do know this exchange offering has been out since April, and this is a new revised deal. Looks like terms are a little worse than the last offering which expired as of midnight. So i dont believe and i’m hoping its not a drag on the stock today.

  5. Pass the percocet pleez. says:

    Hey CA,

what are your thoughts on MRGE?

    thnx in advance.

  6. Cash-N-Guns says:

Fuck banning Vic’s…WTF..just make everything fucking legal, tax the fuck out of it, and see who is still alive and using in a year..Obama you gay f uck-bitch…we are becoming the USSA..God Damn pathetic…our liberties and freedoms are being eroded each day….when the economy eventually succumbs to this sugar induced stimulus shit-tard high…the revolutuion can begin…Obama is shit, I want Vicodin, and a joint, and a bump, and 3 coffee’s for breakfast…so go fetch it bitch.

  7. Docsparks says:

I don’t think the FDA will act on this at all. Dumb as dumb gets. The issue is unintentional overdose of a single component in these, that’s also in Tylenol. Tiny numbers of problems - I’ll bet far less than caused by patients taking Tylenol at the same time as dozens of other over the counter medications that share the same component.

Watching MDZ, APPY (pure speculation, I don’t like the science), MENT, and maybe ALGT - 38% short float on this profitable airline.

  8. Docsparks says:

As far as APPY goes - chart and volume seem good for something. Company is riding on a blood test to help diagnose appendicitis in the ER. I’ll tell you first hand, any blood test for this will always be just another (expensive) mousetrap compared to the doc’s “gut check” - his / her own that is - and a couple of simple things and observations that we’ve used for 100 years.

  9. retox says:

    PPHM

Peregrine Pharmaceuticals announced that it has been awarded a European patent for a novel device and methods for linking biological agents to labels for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. The technology, which is known as In-Line labeling, was developed for the production of radiolabeled anti-cancer antibodies, but is applicable to other agents as well. A study published today in the July 2009 issue of The Journal of Nuclear Medicine confirms that In-Line labeling can dramatically reduce the complexity and cost of producing radiolabeled cancer drugs. In-Line labeling is already being used for the production of Peregrine’s radiolabeled antibody Cotara, currently in Phase II trials for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme, a deadly form of brain cancer.

  10. retox says:

    LEA,

I know quite a few took the bet on this one and are still hanging on for a lotto ticket but the rumors were true.

The Detroit News reports that Lear (LEA). is poised to file for bankruptcy protection as early as today…

A good trading rule to write down - buy a rumor that GOOD shit is going to happen not because bad shit might NOT happen.

  11. Kman says:

How ’bout we just short AIG back to $1?

FRPT is down huge after losing a contract.

Lots of eco reports today. Good luck.

  12. Docsparks says:

Any long thoughts from the shorters out there on ALGT over the very short term? I was thinking it might be a buy if it starts to move again rather than consolidate.

Although I picked up TLB on a bull flag with a high short float - ALGT doesn’t have the same pattern. These are far different companies of course.

    I’m loving BORL this morning.

08:18 AM Eastern Daylight Time, 07/01/2009 (MidnightTrader) — Borland (BORL) shares are higher in premarket trade after Micro Focus sweetened its cash offer to $1.50 per share from $1.15 per share, topping a proposal made by an unnamed bidder last week. That deal would value BORL at $113 million.

Last week, BORL said in a filing that the strategic buyer had increased its offer proposal to $1.25 in cash. The company said it had opened its books to the unnamed party for due diligence.

  17. MarginClerk says:

NYSE A-D decline looks better than Nasdaq A-D line because NYSE one is distorted by a lot of listed non-operating companies like preferred stocks and closed end funds. Lowry has an adjusted NYSE A-D line which includes just operating companies and that one topped out in May.

MONROVIA, Calif. –(BUSINESS WIRE)– AeroVironment, Inc. (AV) (NASDAQ:AVAV) was awarded a Phase II contract extension in April from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency ( DARPA ) to design and build a flying prototype for the Nano Air Vehicle (NAV) program. As part of this program AV has accomplished a technical milestone never before achieved: the controlled hovering flight of an air vehicle system with two flapping wings that carries its own energy source and uses only the flapping wings for propulsion and control.
AV achieved the milestone in December 2008 with the successful 20-second flight of the ‘Mercury’ interim test vehicle. The nano aircraft is capable of climbing and descending vertically, flying sideways left and right, as well as forward and backward, under remote control.

    FLAPPING WING?

  19. bigwup says:

retox, do you own PPHM long term?

  32. Rorschach says:

QTM strong open, watching for a pullback

  33. PissAnt says:

C-N-G remember CRGN is being bought in a stock deal by CLDX. Should move relative to that stock, if you’re betting on CRGN your basically betting on CLDX

  34. Slick says:

    What is up with AIG??

  35. bigwup says:

CA you still posting your trades?

  36. retox says:

    TSTR PT = over $2

weather could be a problem today but I’m willing to play this game (with a small position)

  37. Bought CRGN $1.4595

  38. dandle says:

  41. By now, everyone should be able to find their own setups. I am putting a limit on what I post and what I don’t post.

  42. franky says:

WTF happened to ~20% jump in APPY pre-market? It opened flat!

  43. PissAnt says:

UIS BTFO! just touched its YTD HIGH

  44. retox says:

    dandle,

I trade basic chart patterns (wedges, flags, triangles, etc.) I especially like trades that play into support / resistance - a falling wedge into a previous day low for example.

I’m only halfway watching ES for right now - trading TSTR only and watching the launch - I’ll be back in ES later today (or if I happen to see a really nice set-up).

  45. retox says:

    TSTR 1 minute - nice

  46. dtrader says:

    SDTH, BIOS

  47. PissAnt says:

You wont win big in CRGN, it’s being bought out. You are facing all the arbitrage desks who have more combined capital then all of us together. All your going to make is the time premium till the merger is expected to be complete and whatever movements occur in CLDX. No breakouts, save your capital and your mental capital for other things.

  48. Cash-N-Guns says:

PissAnt….I know….but i disagree…CRGN will drag CLDX up…CRGN’s product potential is huge…doesnt close till 3rd quarter…and other things could occur. CLDX is okay for a trade too…but not mutually exclusive..hey I own it..so play or pass..appreciate the info though..and good luck.

  49. Nergo says:

Today I took a day off from work to watch stocks on IBC and CA says he is going to limit what he posts. That’s just my luck!

  50. Juiceyfruit says:

    QCOR

  53. FLOWER says:

    DOCSPARKS,

What made you to watch MDZ? The chart or the news?

    TIA

  54. Docsparks says:

MDZ showing great volume, picking up the pace.

  55. Kman says:

Anyone buying or adding to CNXT on this pullback? I noticed RC, CA and others bought yesterday at this level. Thx.

  56. I will only list sells when I close my current positions. I won’t list my buy/sells for as long as I see fit. I asked more people to contribute ideas/trades for weeks now, but there was no improvement on that matter. Just so you know, out of all the bloggers on iBC, I hate leeches the most.

  57. Docsparks says:

Flower; time spent at the feet of CA. 95% chart, plus I always read up my buys - can’t help myself, not very day traderish…not a win yet. PODD turned out to be worth 10% but took a couple of days more than I thought it would, this seems to be moving.

  58. Mike says:

In for a bit of RSOL @ 2.65, a week or two holding period

  59. dtrader says:

    Looking at CKSW, also HIMX

  60. Docsparks says:

    CA, was FOE your call?

  61. Heckler511 says:

You’ll keep posting pics of battle scenes and chicks, right?

  62. Nergo says:

I understand CA. No problem. I just don’t have the time to spend watching stocks all day with full-time job and family, and gain experience I need to know. Thanks for all your help.

  63. bigpun2012 says:

    I was long SDTH…

    Amazing little run up.

  64. sergeifreud says:

    OSCI moving big time

  65. TraderKeith says:

    UIS breaking from ascending triangle

  66. PhillyTapeReader says:

    DVA B/O

  67. Already broke from ascending triangle

  68. dtrader says:

I for one will apologize to you CA. I try to post ideas as often as is possible. We’re all piggybacking you though, no doubt.

  69. bigpun2012 says:

Ca shouldn’t really post every day trade he is doing although It is nice… to kinda though, get into his brain and see what he looks for.

  70. pati says:

    CA,

    comment on PWAV?

  71. Docsparks says:

marking it as so in my book CA - thx

  72. masterpain says:

Post your picks…..people buy and run the stock higher for you….you could look at it both ways

  73. Kman says:

CA - will you continue to reply to ideas?

How about MTW on the daily?

  74. Juiceyfruit says:

I have bought a slew of diETF’s … first round .. will add more over the following weeks, unless the market decides to blow over 1K … I don’t see it but you never know.

    FXP
    ERY
    SRS
    EDZ
    BGZ
    DPK

  75. Kman says:

Only holdings are PALM from last week and CWTR from yest. I think PALM can hit $20 and CWTWRcan hit $7.

    We’ll see.

  76. PWAV looks good, just be mindful of that late Oct 2008 breakaway gap.

MTW - maybe for a quickie.

bigpun - right. I don’t usually post day trades, because of time pressures.

  77. PissAnt says:

Hope i’m not jinxing it, but UIS volume already 1M shares above yesterday’s total volume…. $2 could be on the horizon by tomorrow.

  78. BAtrader says:

    JAZZ

  79. Kman says:

    Watching HL closely

  80. shawnk3 says:

Here’s a trade idea. Buy FTK. I just got rid of it at a double digit (thousands) loss so it will no doubt skyrocket now. Same for TRID.

The “buy whatever Shawnk3 sells” method is the most profitable trading pattern that exists today.

  81. selby says:

    SOLD CPSL @ 2.69 +.20
    Thanks CB

  82. Gunners says:

RUTH might be almost ready again. above $3.90. $3.90 would break a consolidation trendline from the May highs. might push it higher again. thoughts?

  83. Juiceyfruit says:

ATSG may still have legs .. probably not today, but one to keeps your eyes on or take a small tracker position.

  84. PissAnt says:

shawnk3… Don’t mean to rub it in. But why do you let a loss get that big? To be a solid trader your biggest loss should never exceed your biggest gainers. You have to cut those losses sooner.

  85. retox says:

    TSTR

Weather looks no good. Going to hold my initial 1.66 position with no stop. If/when the launch is cxl today, it should sell off giving me another entry point to average down.

I could sell now for +.02 but, If the weather clears, I would not have another entry chance.

I’m pretty sure we’ve established by now that this will move over $2 on a successful launch - whenever it happens.

  86. sergeifreud says:

i will repeat my vote for HAFC - should hit 2 in the next days.

    disclaimer: long 1.55 avg.

CAEI could also be a low-risk entry here with a stop just below today’s low

  87. shawn -lol. You calling urself a contrary indicator?

    Juice -I think ur right.

  88. retox says:

Picking up a little MEXP .13/.14 long-term sunken treasure pick.

  89. sergeifreud says:

put my money where my mouth is:
    CAEI 1.91

  90. PhillyTapeReader says:

Long FAZ, stop under low of day

  91. MarginClerk says:

Tomorrow morning is employment report. I think it is too risky to hold anything into tomorrow. Better close everything today and tomorrow start fresh.

  92. Kman says:

Done for today - the real job is calling.

Taking CWTR and PALM w/ me into tomorrow. Wide stops in place for the day just in case either nose dives.

Good luck. CA - sweet call on UIS - not in it but obviously wishing I grabbed some on your call.

  93. shawnk3 says:

Pissant - You’re right. I usually keep a closer eye but FTK and TRID were “holy grails” which I gave too long of a leash to.

CA - Absolutely. My negative effect on a stock price (positive if I’m shorting it) is unrivaled. I’m actually responsible for a couple of your picks not going through the roof. According to one of my friends (a real trader, one who makes a profit), “bro….I swear, if you went into the cometary business, I think people would stop dying tomorrow.”

Btw, I bought JAZZ at $4.05 LOL.

  94. retox says:

ACAS - watch for B/O on 1 hour

  95. PissAnt says:

    SHORT JAZZ!!!!!!!!

haha jk jk… i understand shawn, i’ve had those trades back in the day, leaves a sour taste.

  96. shawnk3 says:

Got stopped out of JAZZ at $3.93.

  97. Fly Leech says:

    STP is consistently moving up.

  98. TraderKeith says:

    anyone like PWAV here?

  99. bigwup says:

    anyone still in UIS?

  100. retox says:

    ES shrt 924.75

  101. Mike says:

I am bigwup. Watching ACAS and BZ

  102. Grouch says:

BIGWUP - If you follow the chart and have learned anything from leeching on people, you’ll know that the chart and breakout are solid. Don’t ask dumb questions. Start thinking loser!

  103. bigwup says:

    hey grouch suck it

  104. venim says:

just sold UIS…busy day at work…so dont have time to follow it.

great call CA! you are the man! don’t let anybody tell you differently!

please keep the posts going and the great trades going!

  105. Mike says:

Watching CIM also. Seems the edit post option dissapeared, what gives?

  106. JJ says:

CA- in terms of SPX…now hovering around the 930 level. If we get a close over 930, would you agree that a move up to at least 945 or even a retest of 956 is probable? thx

  107. Schismatic says:

Yo CA. When one of your plays is spiking I know you watch the candle position in the BBands. I’m assuming you use the standard 2.0? Also, how much of the candle must be penetrating before you sense exhaustion?

Liking FITB above 7.20. TOMO looks quite intriguing to me too on the daily.

  108. TraderKeith says:

Yup I’m in UIS…volume looks good today to support the breakout

  109. shawnk3 says:

CA - I suggest you start a reality show where you turn an absolutely cursed trader into a profitable one…kinda like Biggest Loser. I volunteer to be contestant number 1 and I can assure you I have very strong credentials.

Btw, XXX (below) is the guy that came up with the “if you went into the cometary business…” line.

    June 16th-

10:42 AM XXX: bro…check out pphm…some promising news today
10:45 AM me: thanks for the heads up
10:46 AM me: you think it’s too late to get in at $1.09?

11:13 AM me: and in case you’re wondering why PPHM went from $1.09
    to $1.04
    yes, your guess is accurate
your boy jumped in at $1.09
    only 3000 shares though
11:14 AM XXX: lol…nah it’s not because of you…its just the natural swing motion
    me: ok
XXX: hopefully we’ll be okay…I’m in at 1.06 avg
maybe a good 1 month hold

    –June 17th (PPHM hits $.80)—

2:28 PM XXX: bro…I will pay you to jump out of PPHM
2:29 PM XXX: seriously…I’m holding too many shares to watch it go to zero

  110. justin says:

    thoughts on DYAX hourly?

  111. bigwup says:

traderkeith and mike thanks for the reply

  112. retox says:

    ES cover 925 -.25

  113. purdy says:

ES traded up to a potential perfect right shoulder level this morning - there should be lots of swing shorts that entered (me included). If it takes out the morning high it will smoke higher as we cover.

  114. DYAX is fine on both hourly and daily. It is on my list, but the profit potential (t vs. $) isn’t as great as, let’s say, UIS.

I think anyone can be a great trader, but only if they work at it.

I do use the standard 20, 2, 2 for the bollingers. Either there will be a topping candle or more than half of a white long body must be outside of the upper deviation.

Let me also add that if your primary reason to trade is to make money by play other people’s plays, then you will never, ever be self-sufficient. You will be dependent on other people, a slave to others’ thinking.

  115. bigpun2012 says:

    pissant are you from austin?

  116. PissAnt says:

Orginally, born and raised in San Antonio… made my way up to NYC working on wall street. Now i’m an independent daytrader after all this hoopla in the last year. Huge Longhorn fan.

  120. retox says:

  121. Juiceyfruit says:

  126. PissAnt says:

  130. Mike says:

I guess that means we’re doing something right, eh PissAnt? ..That or we’re all equally dumb. : )

  131. Janez says:

    A few ideas:
KONG (chart looks good, also a value play)
XIDE may be good for a bounce play.

I have been mostly trading bear indexes these days. missed a lot of opportunities in mini.
Just followed CA today into CNXT (very small position), CRGN (small position). I do not know why. But I feel pretty worried these days about low priced stocks. (Possibly un-rooted fear).

  132. frog65 says:

    FYI re. HGSI

ROCKVILLE, Maryland, July 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Human Genome Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: HGSI) today announced that it expects to have top-line results available on Monday, July 20, from BLISS-52, the first of two pivotal Phase 3 clinical trials of BENLYSTA(TM) (belimumab, formerly LymphoStat-B(R)) in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20080416/HGSLOGO )

Senior management will host a conference call to discuss the results on Monday, July 20, 2009 at 8:15 AM Eastern. The BLISS-52 data will be submitted for full presentation at an appropriate scientific meeting.

Hence northern star pattern. Liked the phase II results, but may get out at next opportunity.

  133. Juiceyfruit says:

NXG flat-basing after breaking 3 downtrend … $ cracking, gold up .. took some 2.23

  134. Docsparks says:

looks like MENT was a better trade (this am) than MDZ - didn’t have enough free cash for both.

  135. PissAnt says:

    ATSG new 52 week high

  136. bigpun2012 says:

    atsg is so hot

  137. Milan237 says:

Nice call om the ATSG guys … however I am saddened to admit I haven’t seen it coming and although I had my buy order all ready to initate the trade I cancelled it …. I am heaving serious confidence issues lately making any good trades ;-(

  138. PissAnt says:

Milan - How big are your orders compared to your portfolio? Make sure you keep it max 10% or so… any larger you’ll have trouble holding it, worrying about taking a huge loss. I’m pretty confident that all traders here have had their issues with making the trade the correct size for their risk profile. The moto i have to bet more to earn/win more, is so untrue. You never let the stock move play out if you buy too large, your emotion takes over.

  139. TraderKeith says:

Just wanted to get some of your thoughts on position sizing and stops? I know CA uses mental stops and looks at some MA’s to get out. What do some of you other traders use to manage your risk so that you dont load up on one stock and then have it blow out your portfolio? I size it based on the entry price-stop price and how much I am willing to lose on each trade, which is a % of my overall portfolio.

    Any thoughts? thanks!

  140. retox says:

    ES Short 926

  141. PissAnt says:

ATSG going higher, but i’m out @ 2.67… cant go wrong with 8.5% gain in 30 mins

  142. Supreme Leecher says:

In the spirit of sharing: After reading many Chart Addict’s posts, I’m now trying to scan and pick my own trades (not daytrade though). The two picks that are holding up well are QCOR (in 4.64) and AKRX (in 1.14). The others are INCY (in 3.39), GNBT (in 0.62) and HGSI (in 2.87). I’ve been looking for hopeful chart patterns, hopeful business news and some short float, in the affordable price range (for my tiny IRA account). Thank you, Chart Addict.

  143. Jumbo says:

CA…do you use stockcharts.com for all of your charting? What subscription do you subscribe to?

  144. Ring says:

    retox,

Do u think realy we need what ur posting here…whats u see inES short….toomuch spam from u

  145. I LOVE stockcharts.com. It is my only third-party charting tool.

  146. Ring says:

CA,Are you going to hold CRGN over night …looks valume slow down

  147. retox says:

    ES cover

    925 +1

  148. Juiceyfruit says:

    QCOR may have another push

  149. Milan237 says:

@pissant you are absolutely and positively correct 100% How is that for a statement! I use way to much risk and my trade sizes are larger then 10% due to limited dollar amounts currently in my capital I am chasing apprecitation through accepting inordinate amount of risk. Being that I come from derivations (floor MM/local in futures and options in Index and bonds) this is totally a new way for me to get back to trading and cutting my teeth as I go along finding a right way for me to trade. Due to my background experience I need immediate moves confirming my thesis as I have a serious lack of patience in holding positions long term especially now when I need my money to be put in play. One adjustment I made since being here is reducing my number of potential stocks/etfs trades to 10 or less and learning to use technical analysis (especially short term) more and more although I am nowhere yet where I would be confident in my foresite. Anyways thanks for the good advice.

  150. Kman says:

CA - quick question, maybe a bad one, but I am curious…

Regarding your leeches hatred and posting your buys, do you think the added volume surge from those here or on stocktwits that jump on board help push that stock higher?

  151. purdy says:

    Long PARD at 6.86

    Retox, keep posting IMO

CA, how is StockCharts real time feed during busy hours?

  152. Schismatic says:

    MGI. Wowsers.

  153. retox says:

    Well Ring,

“whats u see inES short” was a resistance point with an ascending wedge on dreadful volume and I just made an easy $200 on that trade.

I made over 20 points in ES last week - all posted live.

I’m up almost 10 for this week so far.

I typically trade avg 4 contracts (each being $50 per point). ($4000 last week $2000 so far this).

It’s actually a bit of a pain in the ass to post this so whatever…

  154. um, I usually create a vol spike on my successive orders. The added vol doesn’t hurt, but with or without my readers, the chart will do what’s intended to do.

Stockcharts is good. I use it only for the daily to locate where the breakout is when it occurs intra-day.

  155. Ring….don’t push it.

  156. PissAnt says:

170k for sale in ATSG up @ 1.69…. i’ll rebuy if we break above that.

  157. sergeifreud says:

    stopped out of CAEI
    was a stupid trade

  158. nerdy says:

    congrats on 200% CA

  159. bigwup says:

    tstr just blasted off

  160. retox says:

TSTR launch conditions just went green (launch in 5 min)

  163. malaka says:

    I had a great day in OLP…. $$$$* 4

  164. bigwup says:

    i misfired on TSTR LOL

  165. I welcome transparency. It’s the only way to make sure no one is bullshitting.

Anyone can be like, “oh, I bought such and such at $X price, when in fact, there is no documentation to prove such action”. Everything is bullshit, unless documented.

  166. bigwup says:

    CA killer returns awesome

  167. Docsparks says:

    OREX busting out

  168. Kman says:

Thanks. Just a straight guess, but on a call like ATSG for example, (I’m not in it) that your call must generate something near 20% of today’s volume. But I agree the chart pattern should take care of itself.

    Cheers.

  169. retox says:

    TSTR hold @ :23

will restart 7 min clock if they can fix

  170. howie2092 says:

worth a look is IGTE - iGate Corp.

It’s near the high of day so watch for a breakout.

Best part, it’s in the top ten of all stocks, as rated by the PPT.

  175. Ring says:

    Holding overnight?

Bought some UNG at these levels with a tight leash
Natural gas filled gap from 24/06/09 today and is forming a bullish descending wedge on support

  178. I don’t give a damn what you all do. Do whatever you want.

  179. Mike says:

Dropped half of my UIS position at 1.88. Hopefully it will keep running but I’ll sell at 1.70 if not.
@ Milan, just think about the math, even a 20% drop (about my risk tolerance) on a 5% position is marginal when it comes to overall portfolio performance.
@ Ring, spell check dude. Grats on the 200+ though if it’s legit.

  180. nerdy says:

Rothbury here i come! Happy 4Th everyone!

  181. Scotia Nostra says:

Does anyone know of some charting software that provides good volume bars on the S&P500 MINUTE chart.

On eSignal for example the volume is always the same while Sharescope doesn’t provide volume at all.

    Thx

  182. Kman says:

    Sold CWTR at 6.45, +.40

  183. PissAnt says:

Nobody listens on CRGN… it will NOT pop… it’ll slide probably a penny higher each day. It’s been BOUGHT OUT!

  184. Cash-N-Guns says:

  187. PissAnt says:

    * Celldex to buy CuraGen for $94.5 mln in stock

    * Deal expected to close in Q3

    * Deal to add to Celldex’s immunotherapy platform

May 29 (Reuters) - Celldex Therapeutics Inc said it agreed to acquire
CuraGen Corp for $94.5 million in stock.

With the acquisition, Celldex will add 11 oncology-focused antibodies
to its precision targeted immunotherapy platform.

CuraGen is expected to have a cash balance of at least $54.5 million
at the close of deal, which is expected to occur in the third quarter.

Celldex will assume $14.1 million of CuraGen’s 4 percent convertible
debt due in February 2011 at the close of the deal.

CuraGen shares were up 7 percent at $1.34 in pre-market trade, after
closing at $1.25 Thursday on Nasdaq.

  188. Docsparks says:

  191. Cash-N-Guns says:

MRNA great setup…gracias for the idea CA.

  192. DrewDog says:

Anyone else liking the action on SIRI today?

  193. TraderKeith says:

Hey CA, whats your reason to sell CNXT? 50 day and 20 day crossing 200, isn’t that bullish?

  194. Sold half of everything.

  195. jam says:

    HEB waking up

  199. jam says:

  200. selby says:

    Thanks CB

  201. DrewDog says:

Jam, market closed on Friday. Also, HEB having a big conference in Italy, sponsored by Italian gov’t, on July 4th. May want to hold through the weekend.

  202. jam says:

Drew, I know about the conference but thanx anyway. I’m up too much to risk it being sold on any news over the weekend. I have a bad habit of not taking good profits when I need to. I may just sell half though.

  203. Mike says:

    In CIM at 3.48

  204. DrewDog says:

No problem - good luck buddy. I just added to my position at $2.58, but I have been averaging down unfortunately. Avg at $2.90 now…

  205. venim says:

    CA,

What’s your opinion on CIM on the daily?

I know Mike bought it…wanted to see your thoughts…

  206. Kman says:

In TSTR on the pullback at 1.55 - day trade.

  207. Kman says:

Hat tip to retox - been eyeing TSTR all day.

  208. Bay Area Dude says:

CIM has increased voll and looks like it is ready to go.

THIQ is also wanting to go folks

  209. Bay Area Dude says:

    sorry- THQI

  210. PissAnt says:

    Crapo… sold UIS @ 1.84

  211. venim says:

might be a dumb question. some help from you technical traders.

doesn’t CIM look like it’s creating a doji…wouldn’t that indicate a reversal in trend which would be to the downside = bearish?

    am i missing something?

  212. DrewDog says:

    Also added TSTR at $1.55

    Anyone have thoughts on AHR?

  213. Yo CA - Congrats on the 200%. Sorry that I have not contributed all that much recently. I have been rather busy with work and barely get time to stay with you! In any case, I will be back tomorrow :)

I have a slightly more expensive pick which I bought yesterday and posted here as well. CEDC is the proxy to short the USD and good upward momentum.

    Cheers~

  214. Kman says:

Careful on HEB guys - looks to be stalling into a higher low…

Hope it works out for you…

  215. Cash-N-Guns says:

Obama just appointed Billy Mays as the car Czar…odd no?

  216. Kman says:

Out TSTR at 1.61…a nice 4% win.

    Holding QID and PALM.

  217. +204% now, give or take how the day ends.

  218. MarginClerk says:

I prognosticate that if tomorrow’s employment report is good we gap up, hold the gains and slowly creep up into close and if bad then the dip is immediatealy bought and we rally all day.

  219. Rorschach says:

QTM was so slow, but it’s closing near the high, holding it overnight
    also holding OSCI, 0.235

  220. PissAnt says:

Put on a small feeler short in CAR again, 5.85

  221. purdy says:

Shooting star at critical level to be printed on SPX today.

  222. Bay Area Dude says:

Bought CIM 3.49 and MRNA 1.52 right at the close. Out 1/2 UIS(stupendous, thnx CA!). Holding THQI, OMEX, CRGN as well. Out YGE for a nice gain.

  223. Mike says:

Well I was very happy with my +1.4% day until I read that +204% bollocks. Sheesh, joykill. ;)

  224. Docsparks says:

Up 2% but it didn’t feel like it - mostly CA calls carrying the day, big gains in UIS, FOE, closed out PODD for 10% Holding MDZ, BRKR made a move (finally). Sold a lot of stuff through the day, 60% cash. Until I learn how to manage it better - the sideways grind works me to death - I’ll keep mostly cash, fewer positions, and overall simplify until something is declared.

Short ISRL … this is one of the last overvaluations triggered by the Russell 3000 index rebalance/imbalance to play.

  228. PissAnt says:

Bought ETFC @ 1.36 in AH, they announced the results of debt exchange… could pop like UIS did today.

netemcee - i agree i was out Monday morning saying it was a short at 125… i cant find borrow for the shares however. Think it’s an $80 stock by end of July.
