Colorado is Ground Zero in Gun Rights Debate

The Obama administration has targeted Colorado in their efforts to take guns out of the hands of Americans, law abiding and otherwise. Colorado Democrats voted to move bills to reduce the size of magazines among other measures out of the House and into the Democrat controlled Senate. Democrat Governor Hickenlooper supports the bills in principal.

Democrats are apparently getting “marching orders from President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, who called House Democrats the night they were debating gun bills on the floor and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who leads Mayors Against Illegal Guns,” says Senate Minority leader Bill Cadman.

Biden has personally called Democratic lawmakers:

Republican lawmakers in Colorado say they want the White House to stay out of their state battle over gun control, accusing Vice President Biden of personally leaning on Democratic legislators for their votes in a tight campaign that could change the national conversation on gun rights.

Republican state Rep. Carole Murray told FoxNews.com she doesn’t appreciate “East Coast politics” interfering in her state.
The concern comes ahead of a tense Senate vote — which could come late next week — and after a vote in the House that prompted the White House to take the unusual step of lobbying wavering Democrats. Biden’s office confirmed to FoxNews.com he made four phone calls to Colorado Democrats, two in moderate districts, but did not say what they were about.

Multiple sources, though, tell FoxNews.com that about eight hours into last week’s 12-hour House debate, Biden called Democrats Mark Ferrandino, Mike McLachlan, Tony Exum and Dominick Moreno to solidify support for the measures and to “remind them about the importance of the legislation.”

One can only imagine the promises made or the threats given to these state politicians.

Colorado was targeted by the White House knowing that if they can get measures passed in the Democrat controlled State where guns are part of its history and sport it can advance its agenda throughout the country.

One problem is that they are interferring with hunters ability to participate in sport they love. CBS4 in Denver is reporting:

A popular hunting shotgun could be banned under one of the bills moving through the state Capitol.

A pump or semi-automatic shotgun is the gun most hunters in Colorado use. It’s a gun state Sen. Greg Brophy, R-Wray, says could be banned under a bill that’s already passed the House and Gov. John Hickenlooper says he’ll sign.

“They’re coming after the standard shotgun,” Brophy told CBS4 Political Specialist Shaun Boyd.

Colorado may get what it deserved after voting in these Marxist jackasses but there are plenty of states where the 2nd Amendment will not be budged. In fact, I wonder what will happen to all these liberals in 2014 in the states that try to circumvent the rights of the 2nd Amendment. I have a suspicion that gun control might be the the end of numerous gun grabber careers as plenty of folks in this country enjoy their gun rights.

    Thanks for this post, AT.
As of 2 weeks ago, I was under the impression the White House was backing down. Now they want to include shot guns.
